MENTORING: A POWERFUL TOOL FOR WOMEN?

Some companies believe mentoring is one of the most effective means of transferring knowledge, wisdom and authority between senior, and more junior, individuals. Others have set up internal mentoring programmes only to be disappointed with the results.

In this session we will look at what makes mentoring successful; consider what works (and what doesn’t) and identify the critical success factors in establishing an effective mentoring programme that really works. Peninah Thomson is the Director of the highly successful FTSE 100 Cross-Company Mentoring Programme, and advises the founders of similar programmes in twelve other countries. In this interactive session she will draw on the experience of the last eight years to promote discussion and debate about the merits, or demerits, of mentoring.
