Joëlle Milquet is Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Employment and Equal Opportunities
With her degree in law, Joëlle Milquet was called to the bar of Brussels and at the same time she also became an assistant at UCL. After some time at the Court of Justice for European communities, she joined the parliamentary group at the Senate to become advisor and then Deputy Head of the Cabinet of the Ministry of Higher Education then political secretary of the party. In 1995, she became Senator and then President of the Senate Commission for the Internal Affairs. In 1997, she become deputy president of the party. Federal deputy for Brussels from June 1999 until March 2008, President of the CdH (Francophone Christian democrats) since October 1999 and municipal executive in charge of the civil State, Culture and Employment-Training in Brussels, Joëlle Milquet has been, since 20 March 2008, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Employment and Equal Opportunities.
